Blacksmithing, metalworking, and forging projects.

This page is dedicated to another hobby of mine: blacksmithing and metalworking.

Please be patient while the pictures load...

My small forge and anvil set up behind the house, where I do most of my work.

This is the first forge I bought. I have a larger one for bigger projects.

Of course, an anvil is indispensible.

I bought the post vice, but had to fabricate the steel stand for it.

Detail of the top of the stand.

I made the foot round to make it easier to move.

I made some of the tongs I use from rail spikes. Two spikes to make a tong.

This is the progression for making tongs from a railspike. Two pieces riveted together make the tong.

some of the tongs I made.

Enough of tools, here are some of the projects.

A few of the first items I made.

My first rose.

This candlestick was forged from a piece of iron pipe.

I welded together items from the scrap bucket to make this art piece.

I made this fire poker from a piece of rebar. The end was folded back and forge welded then hammered to shape.

I leave various small pieces on my wood stove and invite guests to take something home.

A friend gave me a bucket of old rails spikes. Here are some of the items I made with them.

This was the first item I made from a rail spike; hooks to hang items in my forging area.

This ram's head hook is for a hanging basket off the end of my upper deck.

The tomahawk was forged from a rail spike.

I made the coat rack for my friend as thanks for the bucket of rail spikes. He's into the pirate thing so I made skull heads on the top. Arrrr
