  • Please be patient while the pictures load...

Foundation specification is for a 3x3x5 ft deep concrete foundation. I had to dig it in hardpan.

The tower mounts on the J rods, with rebar to reinforce the concrete.

The finished cage and tower base is suspended over the hole before pouring concrete.

    The finished pour.

After the concrete cured, the base is leveled before mounting the tower.

    The tower base is hinged.

I used block and tackle over the top of the garage to tilt the tower into place.

Upright and mounted. Now to install the mast and antenna in the rotator at the top.

The antenna was too large to assemble in the yard. I assembled it on the roof of my house.

With the 20 ft mast installed in the retracted tower, I can stand on the roof of the house to mount the antenna.

The finished tower, cranked up and fully extended. The top of the mast is 50 ft above the ground,
with a vertical VHF/UHF antenna at the top. The yagi antenna is at about 45 ft above ground.
